Project Overview
Installation of a new edible oils plant for a project management company, to allow the
customer to extract oil from seed.
Scope of works
- Erection of new platforms, supports and walkways
Installation of new conveyors, elevators, hoppers and various process equipment including an oil press. - Fabrication and installation of associated pipework and supports.
Challenges
The main challenge on this project was the timing necessary to lift the large press
into a building before surrounding it with steelwork, while coinciding with the civils
engineers to ensure the newly laid concrete had set before allowing the crane to get
close enough for the lift.
Outcome
The customer is now able to extract oil from seed that it grows on it’s farms, while
maintaining the ability to further upgrade the plant to allow for expansion of its
operations.
