Timeline:
July 2025 – Ongoing

Project Overview
This year Vanguard has had the privilege of carrying out the mechanical installation
of one of the largest circular Buhler Germination Vessels in the world for a Maltings
Customer in Scotland.

Scope of works
This project includes the mechanical installation of the GV and it’s various
components, as well as associated handling and cleaning equipment.

From marking
out and erecting the walls, to installing the final conveyor systems, this ongoing
project is testament to what our team can achieve.

Challenges
As with any pre-fabricated equipment, measurement is key. The vessel has to retain
it’s roundness and centre point exactly, to allow for the accurate traverse of the boom
arm and other equipment. In short; all measurements have to be exact and all
supports/flooring have to be true.

This can be quite difficult for such a large structure
with so many components; but this is the kind of work we thrive on!

Outcome
On completion, this project will allow our customer to germinate much larger
quantities to keep up with their new kiln and continue to be a leader of the maltings
industry.
